Botulin Toxin (Level 1 Foundation)

Target Audience:

• General Practitioners, Specialists, Dermatologist, Plastic Surgeons, Maxilo-Facial Surgeons, General Surgeons, ENT, Orthodontists, Prosthodontists, Neurologists and other medical specialties with minimal or no experience in the clinical and cosmetic use of botulinum toxin type A

Theoretical Component:

• Comprehensive theoretical lecture and educational materials Abstract
• Pharmacology and mode of action botulinum toxins
• Different commercial presentations and developments
• Anatomic basis for cosmetic applications
• Treatment planning, dosages, follow up and management of adverse events

Objectives:

Upon completion of the course, all the participants should be able:

• Know the aesthetic benefits of botulinum toxin type A
• Know the pharmacological properties of the different commercially available botulinum toxins
• Know the patient selection criteria
• Be prepared to communicate the benefits and risks of the treatment to the patient and obtain a consent
• Safely use cosmetic botulinum toxin type A in their practice
• Safe use for the treatment of axillary hyperhidrosis
• Pre and post-treatment management of patients
• Adequate management of adverse events and complications management
