Introduction

It is critical to maintain compliance to IATA Dangerous Good Regulations (DGR) so that we can uphold a safe environment while dangerous goods are being transported by air.

With this importance, are you aware of the different classifications of dangerous goods and/or the declaration and documentation required?

If you have any doubts or clarifications, this course will allow you to gain / regain the competence to accept, handle and process shipments containing dangerous goods, as per the current IATA DGR manual.

 

After attending this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • State and operator variations
  • Identification and packaging
  • Markings and labeling
  • Shipper’s declaration
  • DG Handling/Storage/Loading
  • Radioactive materials
  • Understand the different types of Dangerous Goods and its hazards as well as understand and apply packaging and documentation requirements as set by IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations.
  • Learners will learn how and what to do if there is an emergency on Dangerous Goods incidents and accidents.

  • Hidden ""Dangerous Goods"" in baggage's and air cargo.
  • NOTOC
  • Shippers declaration
  • Storage and loading requirements
  • Emergency responses
  • Major changes & amendments to DGR
  • Limitations: Excepted & Limited Quantity, hidden & forbidden DG, DG carried by passengers or crew, state & operator variations
  • Video show: “It’s your responsibility”, “Properties of DG” & “Safe transport of radioactive materials”
  • General requirements for shippers
  • List & identification of DG

 

Day 3

  • General & Specific packing requirements for DG / Overpacks
  • Types of packaging: UN/ICAO, Ltd Qty, Non-specification
  • Marking & Labeling DG packages
  • DG Transport Documents
  • Acceptance, storage & loading Procedures
  • Radioactive & Non-radioactive materials
  • Captain’s notification & advanced notification to CAAS for carriage of radioactive materials
  • Roles of government authorities in the transportation of DG
  • Emergency procedures – damaged DG
  • Examination
