Developing Windows Azure & Web Services

This program will teach the students about designing and developing services that can access both remote and local data from varied data sources. You will learn about developing and deploying services to hybrid environments that include on-premises servers and Windows Azure. The students will also be prepared for exam 70-487.

Learning Outcome:

- Service development basic concepts and data access strategies with the help of .NET platform.
- Microsoft Azure cloud platform and its compute, data, and application hosting offerings.
- Designing, implementing and consuming HTTP services using ASP.NET Core.
- Hosting services on-premises and in Microsoft Azure.
- Designing and developing a data-centric application using Visual Studio 2017 and Entity Framework Core.
- Extending HTTP services using ASP.NET Core.
- Deploying services to both on-premises and cloud environments and manage the interface and policy for their services.
- Monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting services.
- Choosing a data storage solution, cache, distribute, and synchronize data.
- Creating scalable service applications.
- Describing claims-based identity concepts and standards, and implement authentication and authorization with Azure Active Directory.

Pre-requisites:

- Experience with C# programming, and concepts such as lambda expressions, LINQ, and anonymous types
- Experience with querying and manipulating data with ADO.NET
- Understanding the concepts of n-tier applications
