Theatre Summer Camps for Kids & Teens (2022)

Each week of our camps is completely unique and ends in a showcase for family and friends to watch! Scroll down for details about each age group.

1. ‘Mini Storyteller’ for (4-7 Years) (Three Weeks Available)

Let us take your child on a magical journey where they will creatively explore the wonderful and imaginative world of picture books by their favourite authors in our beautiful theatre! Our unique Summer Camp will nurture and stimulate your child’s passion for storytelling, develop literacy skills and build confidence through drama games and movement.

Each week has a brand-new theme based on a moral found in the storybooks and each day throughout the three weeks we will explore a new book forming the inspiration for theatre games, mime, role-play, as well as arts and crafts.

Your child will develop their communication skills, learn to work as part of a team and think creatively, all whilst having fun under the guidance of instructors with a wealth of experience teaching children of all ages.

2. 'Junior Actors’ for (8-11 Years (three weeks available)

Sign your child up for our Acting Summer Camp and let them explore characters and themes from their favourite books through theatre, including Gangsta Granny, Harry Potter, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, How to Train Your Dragon and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory!

Each week will be filled with fun, self-expression and spontaneity, where young performers develop valuable life skills that help build confidence and overcome anxieties. Each week we explore a new book so why not sign up for all three! 

3. ‘Young Performers for (12-14 Years)

Sign your teens up for our Acting Summer Camp where we will be exploring the exciting theme of TV and Film in July and Heroes and Villains in Aug! Performing on stage can be one of the most exhilarating experiences of a teenager's life.

It’s not just about pretending to be someone else – it’s also about learning to be comfortable with who you are. The Courtyard Playhouse is a safe space where preteens meet likeminded individuals, feel accepted and free to be themselves. 

4. ‘Summer Under 20’s Maestro’ for (15-20 Years) 3 x 2-hour Classes:

Calling all aspiring young actors between the ages of 15-20! Join us this Summer for an incredible opportunity to train at our theatre, develop your stagecraft, acting skills and self-confidence.

Maestro™ is an elimination-style Keith Johnstone improv show format for large groups of performers of varying abilities. It is fun, fast and hilarious to participate in and watch.

This workshop will equip participants with the necessary skills in improvisation to be able to perform in a Maestro confidently, with an open, supportive and playful spirit.
